Diamondbacks vs. Braves Prediction and Odds for Friday, July 29 (Braves' Lineup Set to Explode)
By Joe Summers
For the first time in July, the Braves actually lost a series. The Phillies got the best of Atlanta in a three-game set, and now Kyle Wright hopes to get his squad back on track with a strong start against Arizona tonight at 7:20 PM EST.
Wright is a good man for the job, as the Braves have six straight wins behind him. He's 12-4 with a 2.95 ERA on the season and comes in with three consecutive quality starts, all wins.
After sweeping the struggling Giants, the Diamondbacks have wins in six of seven contests and send Madison Bumgarner to the mound. Bumgarner's underlying metrics aren't pretty, but he's limited six of his last eight opponents to three runs or fewer.
Will Wright get Atlanta back on track or can Arizona pick up another upset win? Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to help us find out ahead of this Diamondbacks vs Braves matchup:

Diamondbacks vs Braves Prediction and Pick
Both offenses are red-hot, as the Diamondbacks are fourth in OPS this month while the Braves are seventh. I've been genuinely impressed by the scrappy Arizona squad, and Kyle Wright has been a bit lucky. Wright has a 2.95 ERA on the season but a 3.79 expected ERA and surrendered at least one home run in five of his last six starts.
Favorable weather conditions are in store tonight, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Christian Walker or Daulton Varsho take Wright deep.
That being said, Wright still has nasty stuff and did throw six shutout innings against Arizona earlier this year.
But I've got no faith whatsoever in Madison Bumgarner against Atlanta's lineup. The Diamondbacks have four straight road losses behind Bumgarner by a combined score of 26-7. His underlying metrics are horrible, with a 4.79 expected ERA and an MLB Statcast Pitching Profile that should scare any Arizona fan:
I'm buying the Braves to get back on track against Bumgarner. But I do think the Diamondbacks score enough to give the over value as well. It's 8-0-1 in the Braves' last nine games and 3-0-1 in Bumgarner's last four starts. Look for Atlanta's offense to explode and Arizona's to score just enough to give us a cash on the run line and over.
Pick: Braves -1.5 (+100) and Over 9.0 (-105)
