After a pair of 5-4 victories in the first two games of the series, the 22-12 Los Angeles Dodgers hope to complete a sweep of the 18-18 Arizona Diamondbacks with a double-header kicking off at 3:10 p.m. EST today.

The Dodgers haven't officially announced a starter, but it appears likely top prospect Ryan Pepiot will get called up for his second major league start. He held the Pirates scoreless over three innings last week, but struggled with command and walked five.

Tyler Gilbert will be on the mound for Arizona and while he has a 2.08 ERA in 8.2 big league innings, he just got shelled for six earned runs in his last Triple-A start. He only recorded two outs in that disaster and now gets to face one of the best lineups in the sport.

Can Gilbert bounce back against Los Angeles or will the Dodgers notch a third-straight win?

Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to pick a winner in this Diamondbacks vs Dodgers Game 1 matchup:

Diamondbacks vs Dodgers Prediction and Pick

There is no reason to have any faith in Diamondbacks' starter Tyler Gilbert today. In his last four Triple-A starts, Gilbert had a 12.04 ERA and is coming off a two-out, six-run disaster. The Dodgers don't hit left-handed pitchers as well as they hit righty's, but they're still a better lineup than the ones that have been rocking Gilbert in the minors.

Arizona's bullpen ranks 28th in MLB in ERA, so the relievers won't be able to save Gilbert if things go south. Los Angeles is averaging 5.9 runs per game in May and should have a field day.

While it seems likely Ryan Pepiot will start, it almost doesn't even matter who the Dodgers throw out there. They're going to win, by a lot. I'm pretty sure I could go pitch and we'd still get the win.

If it is Pepiot, the Diamondbacks are in real trouble. He has a 2.37 ERA over his last three minor league starts and is a strikeout machine. Arizona averages the second-most strikeouts of any team in MLB and the Dodgers have the National League's best bullpen to back up Pepiot if he struggles.

Los Angeles had covered the run line in every single win prior to this series. After a pair of one-run victories, the Dodgers return to normal in a dominant victory today.

Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (+105)
