Austin Riley delivered the biggest hit of his professional career Saturday night, as the Atlanta Braves walked off the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the NLCS at Truist Park in Atlanta.

With one out in the inning, second baseman Ozzie Albies singled, stole second base, and Riley brought him home against one of the toughest pitchers in the league in right-hander Blake Treinen.

Meanwhile, the Braves got another win with Max Fried on the mound in the postseason, improving Atlanta's record to 5-1 in the playoffs when the 27-year old takes the mound.

Dodgers vs. Braves Betting Splits

Atlanta won as slight underdogs (-103) in Game 1 against L.A. (-107), and was a big victory for the sportsbooks as the public heavily backed the Dodgers on the run line. According to WynnBET communications, 83.4% of the betting tickets were on the Dodgers at -1.5, +155, as well as 80.3% of the betting handle.

The Dodgers entered the NLCS at -200 odds to advance to the World Series, with the Braves coming in at +180.

Dodgers vs. Braves Game 2 NLCS Prediction and Preview

It's no surprise to see the Dodgers as massive favorites for Game 2 tonight as Max Scherzer (0-1, 1.46 ERA, 14 Ks) will take the bump for L.A. against fellow right-hander Ian Anderson (1-0, 0.00 ERA, 6 Ks). Despite Anderson pitching five shutout innings in their NLDS series against the Milwaukee Brewers, Scherzer remains the top pitcher in the National League and was last on the mound to close out the Dodgers' Game 5 win over the San Francisco Giants.

Scherzer's lone loss of the postseason came back in Game 3 of the NLDS when he gave up just one run while striking out 10 batters. The Dodgers lost that game 1-0.

Anderson is no slouch in the postseason, however. Like Fried, he's been outstanding through his young career through the first five playoff starts of his career.

Ultimately, I'll go with the longer sample size and back the Dodgers in a bounce-back situation with their ace on the mound, as well as for them to hit the over on their team total of runs with just 4. L.A has been a very back-and-forth team, and in both games that they were shut out in the previous series, they responded with 9 and 7 runs in the following two games. The Dodgers also led the National League in both run differential as well as runs scored.
