The Los Angeles Dodgers regained the lead in the NL West after winning their last three games in a row.

LA took game three from the Detroit Tigers to end their series then went on to sweep the San Francisco Giants in two games at home. The Dodgers are now 4-1 in their last five and present a very tough matchup for the Chicago Cubs. 

The Cubs host the Dodgers in a three-game set at Wrigley Field scheduled to begin this afternoon. The Cubs are not enjoying the level of success that the Dodgers are with a 9-15 record heading into the weekend. Chicago started off almost decent but has since fallen off a cliff. They're 1-5 straight up in their last six games and 3-12 in their last 15.

Dodgers vs. Cubs Prediction and Pick

The Dodgers have been blessed with a strong roster on both sides of the plate. More accurately, LA has been blessed with the money to buy a stacked roster. 

Tyler Anderson is one of the members of that stacked roster and will get the start on Friday for LA. Anderson has impressed in his first four starts with a 2.55 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. The Dodgers need to do a bit more to support him at the plate, but his metrics are strong. I am particularly impressed with Anderson's control after he walked no batters in his first two starts. He might not have the dominant strikeout junk that Kershaw or others throw, but Anderson has found his groove early on. 

The Cubs have yet to announce a starter for this game, but I don’t think it matters all that much. There isn’t a guy on this roster that would make any difference in the outcome of this game. The Cubs are still a bad team and the Dodgers are one of the best.
