The Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds close out their three-game mid-week series this afternoon at The Great American Ballpark. This game should only be exciting to you if you are a Dodgers fan as the Reds are likely to get beat down by the best team in the NL West.

The Reds are back to losing almost every time they take the field and entered this series on a four-game slide after getting swept by the Brewers. The Reds are going to need a lot of help today if they have a chance against the Dodgers at home.

Here are the odds for this game from consensus sportsbooks.

Dodgers vs. Reds Odds, Run Line, and Total

Run Line

  • Dodgers: -1.5 (-165)
  • Reds: +1.5 (+140)

Moneyline:

  • Dodgers: -280
  • Reds: +235

Total:

  • Total 9.5 (Over -105/Under -115)

Dodgers vs. Reds Prediction and Pick

I think the biggest question in this game is which Hunter Greene shows up to play today. Is it the Hunter Greene that shut out the Diamondbacks over seven innings last week? Or, is it the Greene that gave up four runs in the innings the week prior to the Red Sox? Considering that the Dodgers are hitting .271 against Greene, I tend to assume it’s the latter Greene we see today. Even if Greene pitches very well, I don’t think it will matter all that much.

My complete lack of faith in the Reds is only compounded by the fact that Clayton Kershaw is getting his third start of the month today. Kershaw is making his third start of this month after missing almost all of May due to injury. On the year, Kershaw is 4-1 with a 2.08 ERA and 0.85 WHIP. He has held the current Reds lineup to a .203 batting average and just six extra-base hits in 108 at-bats.

Let’s not complicate things too much here. The Reds are one of the worst teams to lace ‘em up over the last decade and they are facing off against a first-place team with a Hall-of-Fame starter on the mound.

Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (-165) / Lean: Dodgers -2.5 Alt Run Line
