Dodgers vs. Rockies Prediction and Odds for Monday, June 27 (Anderson's Unbeaten Streak Lives)
By Joe Summers
We've got a matchup of two squads on opposite ends of the spectrum as the 31-42 Colorado Rockies host the 45-26 Los Angeles Dodgers tonight at 8:40 PM EST.
The Dodgers have won five of six after a hard-fought series with the Braves. They'll start Tyler Anderson this evening, behind whom they've won seven straight. He's 8-0 with a 3.00 ERA on the year.
Losers of five of six, Colorado turns to Chad Kuhl, who has lost three straight and has a 4.87 ERA in June.
Can the Rockies catch Los Angeles napping and steal a win to open the series? Or will the visitors keep rolling behind Anderson?
To answer those questions, let's first examine the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook for this Dodgers vs Rockies matchup:
Dodgers vs Rockies Odds, Run Line and Total
Run Line:
- Dodgers -1.5 (-140)
- Rockies +1.5 (+115)
Moneyline:
- Dodgers: -188
- Rockies: +173
Total:
- 11.5 (Over -110/Under -110)
Dodgers vs Rockies Prediction and Pick
Chad Kuhl is the rare Rockies pitcher that's actually better at home than away, compiling a 3.29 ERA at Coors Field and a 4.39 ERA on the road. Colorado hasn't been able to support him, however, and are 1-8 in his last nine starts. In six of those starts, the Rockies scored one or zero runs.
I expect their lineup to struggle again today against Tyler Anderson, who is sort of the forgotten man in the Dodgers' incredible rotation despite an unbeaten record. But make no mistake, the 32-year-old lefty is enjoying a superb season.
Anderson allowed one or fewer runs in four of his last six starts, including a near no-hitter, and his 3.10 expected ERA is tied with AL Cy Young favorite, Justin Verlander.
The guy has been fantastic, and I think the Dodgers take care of business today. They've won five straight on the run line as road favorites and the Rockies' offense has proven it can't be trusted with Kuhl on the mound. Colorado has been outscored 48-20 in his last nine outings, so I'll roll with Los Angeles at -1.5.
But I also love the under. The Dodgers have struggled with situational hitting but feature perhaps the best pitching staff in MLB. As a result, the under is 9-4-1 in their last 14 as road favorites, while it's 6-2 in the Rockies' last eight as home underdogs and 4-1 in Kuhl's starts at Coors Field.
I'll be playing the bets individually, but a same-game parlay has odds of +227 (Bet $10 to win $22.70) if that tickles your fancy.
Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (-140) and Under 11.5 (-110)
