The Miami Dolphins got thrashed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, 45-17. A loss was expected by the Dolphins, but Miami would go down in style, giving up five touchdown passes to Tom Brady. Jacoby Brissett played well, but couldn’t keep up with Brady, as Brissett threw for 275 yards and a touchdown.

After winning by one point against the New England Patriots in Week 1, the Dolphins have dropped four straight games to fall to 1-4.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are awful, and their awful season continued last week with a 37-19 loss to the Tennessee Titans. The Jaguars got torched by Titans’ running back Derrick Henry, who ran for 130 yards and three touchdowns.

Jaguars running back James Robinson has looked great over the last three weeks and ran for a season-high 149 yards against Tennessee, but quarterback Trevor Lawrence continues to play at a forgettable level as Jacksonville sits at 0-5.

Dolphins vs. Jaguars Prediction

If Tua Tagovailoa can come back for the Dolphins in Week 6, I will like Miami even more in this game, but even with Brissett under center, I don’t like the Jaguars chances.

Both of these defenses have been bad in 2021, with each team allowing 30 points per game. Jacksonville has slightly better numbers on offense, its running game is certainly better, but the Jaguars can’t seem to hold onto the football. The Dolphins have a not-great turnover differential of minus-2, but the Jaguars have a dead-last in the NFL minus-10 turnover differential.

Sometimes I decide on which coach I like better. I think Brian Flores has the potential to be a long-tenured NFL head coach with Miami and I think Urban Meyer doesn’t belong in the NFL at all.

I’ll take the Dolphins at -3 on the spread and -180 on the moneyline.
