It’s a Week 2 matchup of two 1-0 teams in the AFC. The Baltimore Ravens went up to the Meadowlands and stomped the Joe Flacco led New York Jets on Sunday and the Miami Dolphins beat Bill Belichick’s Patriots down in South Beach again. Tua Tagovailoa is now 4-0 against Belichick.

The Dolphins are loaded at receiver with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, and the Ravens have one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league. Can Lamar Jackson avenge the Thursday Night football loss from a year ago?

Dolphins vs. Ravens Prediction and Pick

The Ravens started slow in Week 1 against the Jets, but once they shook off the rust and got into a rhythm after not playing starters in the preseason, they looked great and won 24-9. I’m willing to completely write off the first half offensively. They needed to figure a few things out and Lamar Jackson needed to shake off the awkwardness of entering the season without a contract extension.

The concerning thing for Baltimore is that they had to do it through the air, not on the ground. Jackson threw for 213 yards, three touchdowns and had a pick. As a team, they only rushed for 63 yards, but I just don’t see that as anything more than an aberration. They will get J.K. Dobbins back soon and Jackson will rush for more than 17 yards on six carries. The Ravens figured out they could beat the Jets through the air, so they did just that.

I am far more concerned about the Dolphins. The Patriots were as bad as everybody thought they could be on offense with Matt Patricia calling plays. It was ugly and yet Miami only won 20-7. The Dolphins forced three turnovers, one of which was a Melvin Ingram scoop and score and they only put up 13 points on offense. The recipe was there for a blowout win and the offense couldn’t drop the hammer. I think their receivers are dynamic, but I still don’t trust Tua to get it done.

Baltimore has shored up their secondary with Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters getting healthy and Kyle Hamilton, Kyle Fuller, and Marcus Williams joining the team. Williams led the team in tackles and had an interception.

I see the Ravens as Super Bowl contenders and I think Miami will be lucky to make the playoffs if their offense can’t win a game with such a big turnover margin by more than 13 points.

Pick: Ravens -3.5
