Two 7-7 teams face off in Monday Night Football to close out Week 16 in the NFL.

The Miami Dolphins hit the road to New Orleans to take on the Saints. The pair are each hoping to sneak into the playoffs but only one will truly have a shot after this week. That has made this game very important and a must-win for both teams.

This becomes a tall task for the Saints who are now without their first, second, and third-string quarterback. With Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian added to the COVID-19 list, Ian Book will be the starter tomorrow night. It is not the ideal situation for the rookie to be dealing with as the Saints need every game to go their way in order to keep their season alive.

The Miami Dolphins currently have the longest active winning streak in the NFL at six games after a brutal start to the year. For a team that began 1-7 on the year, it's amazing that they still have an outside chance to make the playoffs.

Miami is coming off a 31-24 victory at home over the New York Jets last week. The score suggests the game was closer than it was but Miami pretty much dominated. The Dolphins did give up several turnovers that would have been a huge issue had they been playing a better team.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints had one of the biggest upset wins of the season in Week 15 after shutting out the defending champions and Tom Brady.

It was a stunning loss for one of the best offenses in the league and showed the league that the Buccaneers are very beatable if they aren’t at full strength.

Dolphins vs. Saints Prediction and Pick

While both teams are similarly matched with identical 7-7 records, I think the Dolphins have a significant leg-up in this game.

I give the Saints credit for continuing to fight hard despite serious injuries to several key players on both sides of the ball. Their win over Tampa Bay was very impressive and has me re-thinking just how good the Buccaneers really are.

The answer to that question is that the Bucs are still very good which means that win was a fluke.

Their previous win was over the lowly Jets and is therefore hardly a win at all. I think that when all is said and done, the Dolphins are going to ruin the Saints’ shot at the playoffs and beat them on their home field to make it seven straight wins.

This goes double now that Book will be starting for the Saints. Fade the rookie and ride the red-hot Dolphins on Monday Night.

Prediction: Miami Dolphins -2.5 (-110)
