The Seattle Seahawks didn’t end the 2020 season how they wanted to. After a hot start and a 6-1 record, Seattle’s offense lost steam in the second half of the season. As a result, many people have jumped off the bandwagon and gone away from the Seahawks.

One of the results of people turning away from the Seahawks is that D.K. Metcalf is starting to be slept on. Here’s a warning to everyone who doesn’t trust in Metcalf and Seattle: Don’t sleep.

WynnBET has Metcalf’s odds to lead the league in receiving set at +1400. That puts him behind Calvin Ridley and Michael Thomas -- who is going to miss significant time because of an offseason surgery.

I understand that Metcalf has his flaws, mainly his hands, but last year was a breakout year and he is primed for another one just like it. Metcalf was just over 200 yards away from the league leading Stefon Diggs, who hauled in 1,535 yards. In an offense that fell completely by the wayside in the second half, Metcalf’s numbers are still very impressive.

Seattle is implementing a new offense in 2021. It’s supposed to be a quicker system focused on getting playmakers the ball early and often. Metcalf is one of the most physically imposing receivers in the league and doesn’t sacrifice strength for speed. An offense built to give him the ball in space is one that should scare the league.

Once the league caught on to the deep-ball heavy offense Seattle was running, teams began to adjust and stop the Seahawks. With Russell Wilson on a mission to prove the doubters wrong, Metcalf will have a motivated quarterback and a system that highlights his strengths.

He is in the perfect position to be successful, which gives him great value at +1400 to be the receiving leader at the end of the year.
