The Los Angeles Chargers are coming.

They have won back-to-back games and still have a realistic shot at winning the AFC West. The key to their success is Justin Herbert, and while the Chargers are being slept on as legitimate AFC contenders, so are Herbert’s MVP odds.

WynnBET has Herbert’s MVP odds set at +1000, which are the sixth-highest in the league. Herbert is sandwiched between Aaron Rodgers (+900) and Kyler Murray (+1200).

Herbert had a fantastic day against the Steelers, throwing for over 350 yards and three touchdowns, and making some insane throws in the process.

On the season, Herbert is having a very solid season. He’s fifth in the league in passing yards (2,927) and fourth in touchdown passes (22). While he’s had a few bad games, the highs of his season have been great.

Since Herbert has the numbers suitable for an MVP, it comes down to how “valuable” he can be for the Chargers. That comes with wins.

On the latest "Bet & Breakfast" podcast, our Ben Heisler told Peter Dewey and Reed Wallach that if he had a free $100 bet on NFL MVP, his pick would go to Herbert (8:28).

Los Angeles has seven games left and all of them are crucial for their season and for herbert’s hardware. The AFC has proven many times this season that there is not a dominant force in the conference, leaving every game up for grabs.

If the Chargers can take advantage of the wide open conference, a quick winning streak could propel them to meet the preseason expectations of the team.

Herbert and the Chargers have four divisional games in their last seven games. Those games will be automatic platforms for Herbert to show what he can do, which is the best marketing for an MVP case.
