The Atlanta Dream and Chicago Sky will play the first of two straight games against each other on Friday night.
Both teams come into this matchup on three-game winning streaks, but they are still fourth (Atlanta) and fifth (Chicago) in the Eastern Conference.
This game is just the fifth time all season the Sky have been favored, and the team is a solid 3-0-1 against the spread when set as the favorite in 2023. The Dream, meanwhile, are 6-6 against the spread as underdog.
Let’s break down the odds and my best bet for this game:
Dream vs. Sky odds, spread and total
Dream vs. Sky prediction and pick
If there’s one bet that you should be looking to make when the Dream play, it’s on the OVER.
Atlanta is 12-4 on OVERs this season, mainly because the team plays at the fastest pace in the WNBA.
While the Dream haven’t really been an elite offensive team (fifth in offensive rating), they generate a ton of possessions for both sides with their uptempo style.
That should help them put up a lot of points against a Sky team that ranks fifth in the league (ahead of Atlanta) in effective field goal percentage this season.
These two teams are also fourth and fifth in 3-point percentage in 2023.
While they only combined for 148 points in their first meeting, I still think the OVER is the play. Atlanta has put up 90, 112 and 94 points on this three-game winning streak, so I’ll strike when the offense is hot.
