Drew Lock has Higher MVP Odds than Ezekiel Elliott, George Kittle and the Bosa Brothers

The NFL MVP honor is a glorified "Best Annual Quarterback" award, despite a myriad of other notable and important positions on the field.

Some of the worst quarterbacks in the league still rank higher than some of the best at their respective positions. Take Ben Roethlisberger for example, who at +12500, comes in ahead of his teammate T.J. Watt, who may be the most valuable defensive player in the NFL as evidenced by how Pittsburgh has looked at home without him on the field.

So when I saw that Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock had higher odds than some of the league's premier players, I came to one immediate conclusion

Even the sportsbooks like to "hedge their bets" too!

Lock right now at WynnBET is +30000 to win the MVP, impressive for a player that hasn't sniffed a snap so far in 2021. Maybe he's making himself more valuable to bettors because he hasn't played a down and given them a reason to doubt him!

But even more remarkable are the players that Lock is either tied with or ahead of in the MVP race. Here's just a handful of them:

  • Daniel Jones: +3000
  • Joe Mixon: +30000
  • Ja'Marr Chase: +30000
  • Chase Young: +30000
  • Taysom Hill: +30000
  • Joey and Nick Bosa: +50000
  • Khalil Mack: +50000
  • George Kittle: +50000
  • Ezekiel Elliott: +50000
  • Jared Goff: +50000

If Teddy Bridgewater Goes Down, Lock Picks Up on a Good Team

Since nobody is betting Lock to win MVP right now while riding the bench, the oddsmakers at WynnBET have to be convinced that Lock would be able to play somewhat effectively if pushed into the starting lineup.

The Broncos are 3-0 and have covered all three games against the spread so far in 2021. Bridgewater himself remains an "ATS Freak of Nature" going 38-14 lifetime against the number.

Denver hosts the Baltimore Ravens at home as 1-point favorites in Week 4. Could this be the beginning of the "Drew Lock MVP era?"

You never know...

Want to throw down a few bucks on Drew Lock as a surprise MVP? It pays 300/1 if it hits!

If not, there are plenty of other great odds to jump in on at WynnBET!
