Game 2 of the Champions Classic is going to be a great one. Duke and Kansas squaring off in Indianapolis, should be one of the most anticipated games of the year.

We get to see last year’s National Champions though without most of the top contributors to that team and without Bill Self on the sideline due to his suspension, and Duke, a final-four team from a year ago, in Jon Scheyer’s first test as the head coach of the Blue Devils.

Let’s take a look at the odds for the nightcap of a great day in college hoops.

Duke vs. Kansas Prediction and Pick

Both of these teams are 2-0, but haven’t played a real opponent on their schedule yet, so we don’t know a ton about either side. Kansas is still looking for an identity after losing Christian Braun, Ochai Agbaji, David McCormack, and everyone who played minutes in the national championship game except for Jalen Wilson and Dajuan Harris.

Wilson is going to be the leader of this team and likely the offense will run through him a lot, but freshman, Gradey Dick will have to shoulder a lot of the load. Kevin McCullar was a nice addition as a grad transfer from Texas Tech, but the main thing that the Jayhawks lack is real size.

Bill Self’s teams are typically built around great guard play and one interior big. However, this year, their tallest starter in the first two games has been Gradey Dick, a 6-foot-8 guard. That could be a big problem against Duke. The Blue Devils have been starting 6-foot-10 Ryan Young and 7-foot, Kyle Filipowski this year and last game were able to bring 7-foot-1 five-star freshman, Dereck Lively II.

Duke is going to be the bigger, more athletic team and they will make it difficult for Wilson and Dick to get to the rim. Unless the Jayhawks can shoot the lights out, I don’t think they’ll be able to hang with Duke’s size and athleticism.

Pick: Duke -1 (-110)
