Duke vs. Notre Dame Prediction and Pick
While Notre Dame has won 10-of-11, I believe Duke presents too many matchup issues for the Fighting Irish to stay close.
Notre Dame runs a thin rotation, ranking bottom 30 in bench minutes per KenPom, and don't have the size to match Duke's frontcourt rotation of Banchero, A.J. Griffin and Mark Williams.
The Blue Devils must handle Notre Dame's pick-and-roll offense which has been a struggle for their defense this season, but they have too much offense creation on the other end to win the one-on-one matchups against Notre Dame.
Mike Brey's team is 41st in three-point rate and hitting on more than 37% of their shots from the perimeter. If they are hitting three's and shifting the Duke defense, the Fighting Irish are live for a victory. However, I trust Duke's interior offense to overwhelm the Irish. Notre Dame is outside the top 100 in defensive efficiency and don't generate any turnovers. Banchero and co. should be able to get whatever they want on the offensive end.
Ultimately, I see Notre Dame as an overachiever in ACC play and Duke should be able to pull away even with Trevor Keels status in doubt after he has missed the past handful of games with a calf injury.
PICK: Duke -5
