The Virginia Tech Hokies are trying to keep their bowl eligibility hopes alive against a lowly Duke squad that may have quit on the year.

It's been tough sledding for the Blue Devils this season, just 3-6 on the year and winless in ACC play. Duke has lost by a more than an average of 29 points per game in conference play and the Hokies are going to try and take some frustration out on the hapless visitors.

How should we bet this ACC matchup? First, let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook.

Duke vs. Virginia Tech Pick and Prediction

Virginia Tech should have no issue moving the ball against Duke, who has the worst defense in the ACC. The Blue Devils are in the bottom half of the country in defensive success rate and have one of the worst explosive pass defenses in the country.

While Braxton Burmeister may not have a big arm, the Virginia Tech quarterback should have no issue against this Duke defense that is also outside the top 100 in tackling. Burmeister is also a capable runner, so I expect him to use his legs to pick up first downs and keep the chains moving. For reference, Duke has allowed each ACC opponent to score at least 30 points.

I do think Virginia Tech steamrolls here, especially with the quit factor for Duke in play after such a brutal stretch since the start of October, but my favorite bet is on the over.

Duke plays at a top ten rate in terms of plays per minute and should have no issue feeding running back Mataeo Durant against a Va. Tech defense that is around 100th in defensive line yards. So, I do think the Blue Devils can put up a few points in this one, but with a fast pace, Virginia Tech should get their fair share, sending this game over the total.
