The NFL Super Wild Card Weekend is set and the defending Super Bowl champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, host the Philadelphia Eagles in the opening round. The NFC battle is scheduled to take place in the early afternoon slot on Sunday. Kick-off will be at 1:00pm ET on Fox.

The Eagles limp into the playoffs after getting destroyed 51-26 by the Cowboys on Saturday night in Week 18. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers took care of business on Sunday, beating the Carolina Panthers 41-17, to move up to the No. 2 seed in the NFC. The Buccaneers beat the Eagles, 28-22, in the regular season but the Eagles managed to cover as 7-point underdogs.

Let's take a look at the odds via WynnBET for this Wild Card showdown.

Eagles vs. Buccaneers Prediction and Pick

The Eagles have quietly been one of the better teams in the second half of the NFL season, and I'm going to back them in this spot against the Buccaneers.

Philadelphia runs the ball on 51.16% of plays, which is the highest mark in the NFL. They also average 4.9 yards per carry, which is the fourth-highest mark in the league. They can find success on the ground against a Tampa Bay defense that ranks 15th in opponent yards per carry. The Bucs' have also allowed 4.9 yards per carry over the last three weeks.

Meanwhile, the Eagles defense matches up well with the Buccaneers offense. We all know that the Bucs are a pass-first offense, but the Eagles rank 10th in the NFL in opponent yards per pass attempt. Even more noteworthy, they're second in the league in opponent yards per completion.

I'm so confident in the Eagles, that I may even sprinkle on the moneyline before kickoff. But for now, I'll gladly take Philly and the points.

Pick: Eagles +9.5
