We will likely see both former University of Alabama quarterbacks in action this week in the preseason finale. Jalen Hurts saw the field in Week 1 of the preseason, but was off this past weekend. Tua Tagovailoa made eight throws in preseason Week 2 and will likely play again this weekend.

Both teams are 1-1 in the preseason heading into this one and we will see who’s offense is better built to succeed around their young quarterback in the first half this weekend.

Eagles vs. Dolphins Prediction and Pick

There are so many parallels between these two teams. First we start with the quarterbacks. Both have shown flashes but there are questions about their ability to push the ball downfield and be a true franchise QB.

Then, there are the receivers brought in to maximize those quarterback’s on their rookie contracts. It seems like both of these teams want the answer about if their guy is a franchise quarterback this season, so they have given him everything he needs. The Dolphins brought in Tyreek Hill and the Eagles brought in A.J. Brown. This just a year after Miami drafted Jaylen Waddle from Alabama and Philly took Devonta Smith after his Heisman season at Alabama.

They both have a solid offensive line in front of them after Miami signed Terron Armstead and Philadelphia is healthy up front and has young depth behind their veterans.

I imagine both teams want to see their new look offense all out on the field. Tyreek Hill was supposed to play a week ago, but was a late scratch.

So, it is clear to me that Mike McDaniel will want to see Hill on the field with Tua for at least a series. Both of these teams will want answers on their offense so the over is the play.

Pick: Over 38 (-110)
