Eagles vs. Lions Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for NFL Week 1 (Don't Fall For the Detroit Hype)
The Detroit Lions were the darlings of this year's edition of HBO's Hard Knocks.
They've also been one of the most talked about teams this offseason, as many think they're finally ready to take the next step and finally get out of the basement of the NFC.
Can they live up to the hype?
In Week 1, they'll face another team receiving plenty of offseason praise in the Philadelphia Eagles. They went out and nabbed A.J. Brown from the Tennessee Titans, and drafted highly touted defensive lineman, Jordan Davis, from Georgia.
Which of these two popular dark horse teams will walk away with the win in Week 1? Let's dive into the odds, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Eagles vs. Lions Prediction and Pick
I'm going to go ahead and fade the Lions with their "Hard Knocks bump."
Sure, Dan Campbell is a likable character and a "leader of men," but is he truly a good football coach? I'm not so sure about that.
The Lions are largely returning the same roster they had last year, so I don't understand why people think they could be playoff contenders. They finished last season with the fourth-worst net yards per play mark in the NFL at -0.75.
Their secondary also got torched, allowing the most opponent yards per pass attempt at 7.6.
Meanwhile, the Eagles addressed their biggest holes by helping out their pass rush by drafting Jordan Davis, and putting Jalen Hurts in a position to succeed by acquiring A.J. Brown.
I love the Eagles in this spot. I think they win this game with ease.
PICK: Eagles -3.5 (-114)
