Thursday Night Football has been known to present some stinkers to their viewing audience.

It's usually a game between two basement dwellers, or a game so lopsided it could be over by the end of the 1st quarter.

The Week 9 edition of Thursday Night Football is the latter.

The only undefeated team left in the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles, are set to take on the team that may have the first overall pick in the 2023 draft in the Houston Texans in Houston.

Let's take a look at the odds to win this interconference showdown.

Eagles vs. Texans Odds, Spread, and Total

Eagles vs. Texans Betting Trends

  • Eagles are 5-1 ATS in their last six games
  • The OVER is 6-1 in the Eagles' last seven games against AFC opponents
  • Eagles are 10-1 straight up in last 11 games against AFC South opponents
  • Texans are 0-7 straight up in last seven games against NFC opponents
  • Texans are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games played on Thursday

Eagles vs. Texans Prediction and Pick

The Texans gained a measly 3.2 yards per play against the Titans in Week 8, who sport one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Now, they face an Eagles defense that ranks second in opponent yards per play on a short week.

Good luck to Davis Mills and company, they'll need it.

The Eagles offense won't need to air the ball out in this one, rather they should be able to attack the Texans on the ground. Houston ranks 31st in opponent yards per carry, allowing an average of 5.6 yards per carry.

One of the most impressive parts of the Eagles' offense is their ability to convert on third downs. They rank fourth in third down conversion rate, getting a first down on 45.45% of their third down opportunities. The Texans, on the other hand, rank 30th in that category.

No matter what stat you look at, the Eagles are head and shoulders above the Texans. I don't see any reason to back Houston to cover the spread on Thursday night.
