Eastern Washington vs. Texas Tech Prediction and Odds for Tuesday, December 13 (Back the Well-Rested Red Raiders)
By Josh Yourish
Mark Adams has his Texas Tech Red Raiders at 6-2 on the young season, but outside of the Top 25. They haven’t been very active since their trip out to Maui, playing just two games back in the continental US, both wins. However, their last time out was a close one with Nicholls State, 78-71. Eastern Washington played just three days ago and lost a really tough one against San Diego State, 77-76. The Eagles are 4-6 after that loss.
The Red Raiders are big home favorites in this one, but could they be rusty after playing just two games over the past three weeks.
Eastern Washington vs. Texas Tech Odds, Spread and Total
Eastern Washington vs. Texas Tech Prediction and Pick
Texas Tech is just 2-6 against the spread this season, but their defense should carry them tonight against the Eagles who are not good on the offensive end of the floor. Eastern Washington is 310th in the country in points per game, 66.3 and 321st in three-point shooting, 29.8%. Mark Adams builds his teams on the defensive end first and the Red Raiders are 32nd in opponent scoring. It’ll be tough for the Eagles and their leading scorer, Steele Venters on that end of the floor all night.
On the other end, it’s the front court of Tech that leads them. Kevin Obanor and Daniel Batcho average 14.0 and 13.0 points respectively to lead the team. The concern for their offense is where the creation comes from. De’Vion Harmon is relied on heavily to handle the ball and leads the team with 3.8 assists. They need to do a better job of moving the ball to make their offense more efficient, but Eastern Washington gives up 70 points a night and 12.8 assists to their opponents this year. Their lack of defense will make it easy for the Red Raiders and they’ll get a much needed easy win.
