England is a hefty favorite to make its first final since 2009, and the country is hopeful they can avoid another Semifinal collapse.

The Lionesses take on Sweden, whom they have not beaten since 2014, on Tuesday, July 26, at 2:00 PM EST.

If England can break through for their first Euro Finals appearance and potentially first title, it'll be on the backs of Beth Mead and Georgia Stanway. Mead sits atop the Golden Boot leaderboard with five goals thus far, and Stanway is a steadying force in the midfield that helps generate a dangerous attack.

Sweden is no slouch though, having won three straight matches by a combined score of 8-1. Defense has been the team's calling card, but Linda Sembrandt broke through in the 92nd minute against Belgium with a thrilling game-winner.

Can England avoid heartbreak or will Sweden return to the Final for the first time since 2001?

Let's check out the consensus odds to help find out ahead of this pivotal showdown:

England vs Sweden Prediction and Pick

England survived a scare against Sweden with a 96th-minute goal by Stanway, but otherwise has dominated the competition. The Lionesses won their three group play matches by a combined score of 14-0 and the country hasn't lost since April of 2021. Since that loss to Canada, England has 15 consecutive wins, pitching a shutout in 13 of those victories.

Sweden is scrappy, but I don't think the unit has the firepower necessary to keep up with England. Its scored only one goal in three of its last six games. That being said, I expect Sweden to play a slow, defensive-oriented style designed to keep England's scoring chances few and far in between.

I don't think that'll work though, because Mead and Stanway are just too good. This is quite possibly the best team in the world and the squad is certainly playing like it.

Look for Mead to increase her tournament-leading goal total as England's attack proves too overwhelming. The country has suffered heartbreak many times before, but this is the year it finally breaks through.

Pick: England (-120)
