The English Premier League is set to begin in a few weeks and while the return of the league is always exciting, the odds suggest determining a winner for this season won’t have that much intrigue in it.

WynnBET has released their EPL futures odds for the upcoming season and Manchester City is expected to repeat as champions with ease at -150. Chelsea has the honor of being placed in second place at a distant +500. With those odds, it appears Manchester City is once again set to run away with the league.

A championship in the upcoming season would be the fourth title in five years for Man City.

The odds-on favorites are led by Raheem Sterling, who is coming off an impressive Euro 2020 run in which he led England to the final against Italy. Last season, Sterling had 10 goals and 7 assists for City.

Liverpool, along with Chelsea is at +500, and may be the biggest threat to Man City this season. The only break in Manchester City’s dominance was in the 2019-20 season when Liverpool won the Premier League. LFC took a major step back last season, only collecting 69 points in the season, 30 points less than when it won the title. Still, it was in the top-3 of the league and is set for a comeback season this year.

Manchester City will also have to play this season without the services of Sergio Aguero, now the co-star with Lionel Messi in Barcelona. For the last decade, Aguero has played for Man City and is the No. 4 all-time goal scorer in league history. It will be a different scene for Manchester City without its long-time leader.

This season is championship or bust for Manchester City. It will have a target on it’s back and will be expected to come out of the gate in peak form.
