L.A. has been the prohibitive favorite literally all season long, and have owned the Padres this season, going 14-5 against their division rivals.

2. Houston Astros +350

ODDS TO WIN LDS: -225 vs. Mariners

Justin Verlander is set to reclaim another American League Cy Young award for the AL favorites as they start their postseason. Houston overtook New York as the consensus pick to win the pennant at the start of September.

The Astros went 12-7 this season vs. the Mariners in AL West play.

3. New York Yankees +500

Which Yankees team will we see to start the playoffs? The Bronx Bombers went 10-18 in August, but bounced back to 20-11 in September and October.

New York took five out of six games vs. the Guardians this season, but haven't played since July 3.

4. Atlanta Braves +500

ODDS TO WIN LDS: -200
ODDS TO WIN LCS: +200

The Braves went 21-10 in September and October to take over the division, giving them the bye into their series with the Phillies. Since last season, they are 7-1 in their last eight playoff games and 6-1 in last seven LDS matchups.

Atlanta took the season series 11-8 against their division rivals in the NL East.

5. Philadelphia Phillies +1000

ODDS TO WIN LDS: +165
ODDS TO WIN LCS: +500

The Phillies snuck into the final wild card spot despite a 14-17 stretch in September-October, but still swept the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round.

However, they're 5-2 in their last seven games and 5-2 in their last seven on the road, so they're playing their best ball of late.

6. San Diego Padres +1000

ODDS TO WIN LDS: +180

The Padres knocked off the heavily favored Mets in the wild card round and face a Dodgers team that knocked them around this season (5-14), (3-12 after acquiring Juan Soto, Josh Hader and Josh Bell).

Maybe Tuesday is different, as the Padres are 17-4 in their last 21 games following an off-day (via Covers).

7. Seattle Mariners +1200

ODDS TO WIN LDS: +180 vs. Astros
ODDS TO WIN LCS: +450

Seattle ended the league's longest playoff drought and advanced in a two-game sweep over the Toronto Blue Jays; including an 8-1 comeback on Saturday.

The Mariners have won five straight, and are 16-5 vs. teams win a winning record. A win over Verlander might flip the odds in the series.

8. Cleveland Guardians +1600

ODDS TO WIN LDS: +180 vs. Yankees
ODDS TO WIN LCS: +500

The Guardians keep proving doubters wrong, first with winning the AL Central, and then sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays in the wild card round.

Manager Terry Francona snapped an 0-6 postseason losing streak with their first two wins, and is 42-31 overall in the postseason.
