Expect a Hole-In-One at the US Open
One of the most fun prop bets available for each PGA Tour major championship, is to bet on whether or not there’ll be a hole-in-one.
WynnBET is offering the prop bet for this week’s US Open, and the “yes” is favored at -140 with the “no” set as the +100 underdog.
Let’s be real, who wants to bet on a hole-in-one to NOT happen? What’s the fun in that?
Furthermore, there’s some evidence to back up the idea that we’ll see an ace at Torrey Pines this week.
The two par 3s on the front nine of the South Course at Torrey Pines are the two possibilities of where we’ll see a hole-in-one this week. The other two are well over 200 yards, so an ace on those are a lot less likely.
Hole 3, which is set as a 195 yard hole, is a downhill tee shot and depending on the pin location. We could see balls funnel toward the hole if it's set on the front-right portion of the green.
The eighth hole is the shortest par 3 on the course, measuring at 173 yards. It’s a two-tiered green, which means a front pin location could see golfers use the back top to help roll the ball down towards the hole.
In fact, Richy Weresnki accomplished a rare feat at Torrey Pines by hitting two straight aces on these two holes, technically. In his final round at the 2020 Farmers Insurance Open, Werenski played the back nine holes first, which means his last par 3 he played was the eighth hole, which he aced. Then in 2021, in his first round of the tournament, he aced Hole 3, which theoretically gave him two-straight hole-in-ones on the Par 3s at Torrey Pines, despite them being a year apart.
Nobody wants to be the person to bet “no” on a hole-in-one prop, and we’re getting decent value at -140 odds, so go ahead and take a shot.
