Expect Chiefs, Cardinals to be Popular NFL Week 3 Two-Team Teaser

The Arizona Cardinals are off to a 2-0 start in 2021 and are an ideal candidate to use on a two-team NFL betting teaser in Week 3.

If the NFL season is this wacky through the first two weeks, it could blow your mind as the season moves along.

As more underdogs continue to perform, and more home teams keep falling at home, it's becoming more and more difficult to figure out where to go each week with your picks!

Unless you're BetSided's Iain MacMillan of course...

If you're like the rest of us who aren't wizards, you may be surprised to learn that while favorites improved by three games in Week 2, they're still getting pounded against the spread (ATS) through the first two weeks. After going 4-12 ATS in Week 1, favorites improved to 7-9 in Week 2 but still are 11-21 ATS overall. Furthermore, home teams are off to a rocky start as well, falling to 13-19 ATS. The numbers below show the story and it's eye-opening.

One way to take advantage of some of these lines is to "tease" the spread, or total, in your favor through a two-team teaser. With three teams listed as double-digit favorites a week ago, I wrote about how the Cleveland Browns (-12.5) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-12.5) fit the bill as two teams to move the line on over at WynnBET Sportsbook. While Tampa didn't need their number moved from -12.5 to -6.5 in their 48-25 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, the Browns weren't able to put the Houston Texans away as much as spread bettors would have preferred; winning 31-21 and failing to cover the 12.5.

Chiefs and Cardinals make sense for a two-team teaser in Week 3

This week, the Kansas City Chiefs return to Arrowhead for a divisional showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers. Kansas City (1-1, SU, 0-2 ATS) is a 6.5-point favorite at home. Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals (2-0, 1-1 ATS) somehow survived a missed field goal at the end of regulation by the Minnesota Vikings at home, winning 34-33 but failing to cover the 3.5-points as favorites. They face the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road as 7.5-point road favorites in a 1 pm ET kickoff.

The Cardinals and Chiefs were the two most popular public-backed teams at WynnBET last week. Arizona received more than 95% of the bets to cover against the Vikings (and failed to do so), and the Chiefs coughed up the ball in Ravens territory late in the 4th quarter to lose outright in Baltimore, causing 94% of the bets on KC -3.5 to go up in flames. Kansas City, despite being one of the best teams in the NFL has been atrocious since the second half of last year covering the spread

By teasing the Chiefs down to a 0.5-point favorite, and the Cardinals to -1.5, bettors basically need a straight-up victory for their bet to come through.
