Expect Chris Paul to Take Control In Game 6
Chris Paul hasn’t been the same Chris Paul we saw in the first two rounds of the playoffs since he’s come back from the NBA’s Health and Safety Protocol. He still has the ball in his hands, but his patented mid-range fadeaway jumper hasn’t been falling in the last three games.
While his shot hasn’t been falling, he is still controlling the offense and getting to his spots, which makes his player prop arguably the most interesting one of the night. WynnBET has his point total set at 19.5, with the under (-112) slightly favoring the over (-108).
Paul has hovered around that number in the last two games, scoring 18 in Game 4 and 22 in Game 5. The main theme in those two games was his 3-point shooting. Paul is 0-for-9 in the last two games. Seeing him in a slump like that isn’t the most encouraging, but his looks are clean and normal ones for him.
On top of getting good looks from 3, Paul is still getting to the free throw line on a regular basis and hitting them at nearly a 94% rate.
Also Game 6 is a closeout game, which Paul has played well in throughout his career. In 21 career playoff closeout games, Paul is averaging 20.9 points and 9.0 assists on 47.6% shooting. He has been great in these situations and I expect Paul to return to normal in Game 6.
Paul is also trying to not blow another 3-1 lead, especially with a trip to the Finals on the line.
“I don’t want to talk about 3-1,” Paul said after Game 4. “Got a lot of bad experiences with that one.”
With all that in mind, I expect Paul to be on his A-game and pull through for the Suns.
