Are the Baltimore Orioles trying to lose on purpose?

While I’m sure that’s not the case, it sort of seems that way as they’ll once again be giving Matt Harvey the start on Tuesday night against the Cleveland Indians.

Harvey, who has been absolutely abysmal for three straight seasons, is still getting work as a starting pitcher in professional baseball and I have no idea why. The 32-year old had a 7.09 ERA in 2019 with the Angels, an 11.57 ERA with the Royals last year, and now enters tonight’s game with a 7.41 ERA with the Orioles.

WynnBET has the Indians team total set at 4.5 for tonight, and just like his last start, I’ll be pounding the over at -130 odds. In his latest start, which came against the Mets, I advised people to take the over on their team total and it cashed in the third inning. Harvey gave up seven earned runs in only three innings in that start.

If it ain't broke, don’t fix it. So let’s take the over 4.5 runs for the Indians tonight.

WynnBET also has the Indians set as sizable -175 favorites (bet $175 to profit $100) against the Orioles, who are set as +145 (bet $100 to profit $145) road underdogs. The full game total for the game is set at nine runs.

If Matt Harvey can somehow survive a handful of innings without giving up five runs, the Orioles will have to turn to their bullpen that ranks 23rd in the Majors in bullpen ERA at 4.59.

If there’s anything that might deter you from taking the over on the Indians’ team total, it’s that their bats haven’t exactly been on fire this season. They rank 20th in the Majors in runs per game at 4.14, but that still means they only need one more run than their season average for the bet to hit tonight.

As long as Matt Harvey is an MLB pitcher, I will continue to bet against him.
