F1 Italy: Odds to Win the Italian Grand Prix (George Russell Presented With Prime Opportunity)
There is no longer any doubt. Max Verstappen is the king for Formula 1.
He won his fourth-straight race at the Dutch Grand Prix this past weekend, and he now holds a 310 point lead over Charles Leclerc in the Drivers Standings.
Red Bull would have to completely implode for Verstappen to not win this year's championship, but that doesn't mean we're going to stop racing. This week, Formula 1 will head to Monza for this year's edition of the Italian Grand Prix.
Let's take a look at the top 10 odds to win, and then I'll dive into my best bet for the race.
Italian Grand Prix Odds
- Max Verstappen -280
- Charles Leclerc +500
- George Russell +1000
- Sergio Perez +1000
- Lewis Hamilton +2200
- Carlos Sainz +2300
- Dernando Alonso +14000
- Mick Schumacher +20000
- Yuki Tsunoda +20000
- Daniel Ricciardo +20000
F1 Betting Picks: Best Bet to Win Italian Grand Prix
It seems oddsmakers have caught on. Max Verstappen's odds to win no longer present value. At -280, the price isn't good enough to bet considering the risk of a crash, penalty, or something going wrong.
So, while Verstappen and Red Bull will likely win, I'm going to go a different direction for my best bet this week.
George Russell has emerged as a strong driver for Mercedes this season, having surprisingly better results than his teammate and longtime F1 legend, Lewis Hamilton. In some races, Mercedes has struggled with deciding which driver they should back as their lead driver in terms of race strategy.
That won't be the case this week, as Hamilton will have to start from the back of the grid, leaving all focus on Russell.
If Ferrari shoots themselves in the foot once again this week, the window for a podium finish for Russell will be wide open. I love the odds of that happening at -105.
BEST BET: Russell to Finish Top 3 (-105)
