The Atlanta Falcons are coming into this game well-rested off a bye. Their last time out saw Atlanta beat the lowly New York Jets 27-20 in London. Last week, it was the Dolphins’ turn to head abroad but the trip was less than ideal. The Fins go beat by the Jaguars who snagged their first win of the season, and most of last season, on a game-winning field goal.

Falcons vs. Dolphins  Prediction and Pick

One thing both of these teams have is offensive talent. However, neither team has been able to consistently score points. They seem to fall apart in the red zone and either settle for a field goal or turn the ball over. This would be one of the reasons that in the last six games between these two teams, the under has hit in five of them. 

I don’t trust either of these teams at all so I will be focusing on the total here. But, even that is a tricky call. Neither team has much ability to put up points with the Dolphins ranked 29th in scoring and the Falcons 22nd. So, making an over bet here is risky because of the inability for these teams to finish drives. 

On the flipside. Atlanta’s scoring defense is even worse at 31st in the league while the dolphins rank 29th. So, not only can these teams not score, they can’t stop other teams from scoring either. What a conundrum. 

The total for this game currently sits at 47.0 at WynnBET and, despite the lack of scoring success between these two teams, I am going with the over in this game. It is not so much my confidence in these offenses as it is a fade of the defenses. I have seen some glimmers of hope in each offense and will look for them to build off of that.
