We're still over a month away from the NHL Trade Deadline, but the Calgary Flames got out infront of it today by making a huge splash.

They acquired forward Tyler Toffoli from the Montreal Canadiens, in exchange for two draft picks, Emil Heineman and Tyler Pitlick.

The move is a big one for the Flames, who were arguably one good forward away from being legitimate Stanley Cup contenders. Now that they have their guy, they shouldn't be overlooked in the odds to win it all.

WynnBET has the Flames' odds to win the Western Conference at +900 (bet $100 to profit $900) and +2000 (bet $100 to profit $2,000) to win the Stanley Cup.

Tyler Toffoli Makes the Flames a Serious Contender

Tyler Toffoli has been flying under the radar this season, but that's largely due to him being on one of the worst teams in the league in the Canadiens. Make no mistake about it, he's a one of the best forwards in the NHL.

I already recommended you bet on the Flames to win the Western Conference during the All-Star break, and considering WynnBET has yet to move their odds since acquiring Toffoli, now is your last chance to do so.

Over each team's last 25 games, the Flames rank first in CORSI% (56.33%), third in high danger scoring chances against, and fifth in high danger scoring chances for. Toffoli gives them that extra spark on offense, that should make them dangerous for any team to face in the playoffs.

The Flames enter tomorrow night's game against the Blue Jackets winners of six-straight. You heard it hear first, Calgary is for real.
