The 37-32-11 Winnipeg Jets host the 50-20-10 Calgary Flames in each squad's final regular season game tonight at 8:00 PM EST.

Neither team has anything of note to play for, as Calgary is already locked into first place in the Pacific Division while the Jets are eliminated from postseason contention.

We can expect the Flames to rest most, if not all, of their key contributors as they look to avoid major injury before the playoffs. Winnipeg is expected to start everyone, and they've won two straight while only surrendering one total goal in those victories.

In a meaningless game, where does the value lie? Let's check out the odds from WynnBET to figure that out ahead of this final Flames vs Jets matchup:

Flames vs Jets Odds, Spread and Total

Puck Line

  • Flames -1.5 (+140)
  • Jets +1.5 (-170)

Moneyline:

  • Flames: -155
  • Jets: +135

Total:

  • 6.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Flames vs Jets Prediction and Pick

I don't really see the argument for making the Flames such large favorites tonight. Their only motivation is to avoid major injury, so I'd be stunned if their regulars weren't ruled out. Winnipeg, meanwhile, is hoping to enter the offseason with some momentum as team brass evaluates what to do with the roster moving forward.

Connor Hellebuyck will be in net for the Jets and he's coming off a masterful performance against Colorado in which he stopped 30 of 31 shots in a 4-1 victory. He's been excellent against Calgary so far this year, saving 62 of 66 shots for a .939 save percentage.

Without the Flames' best outfit against him, I expect another big day from Hellebuyck. Calgary has been the superior squad all season, but that won't matter tonight as they're just trying to avoid injury.

In my opinion, there's two bets screaming with value in this matchup. I would make the Jets favorites against Calgary's backups, and there's no way the total should be at 6.5. These teams have played three times this year and the total went under 6.5 each time, and now we won't have the Flames starters playing.

Give me Winnipeg to pull off one last win in front of their home crowd while stifling Calgary's attack in a low-scoring affair.

Pick: Jets (+135) and Under 6.5 (-110)
