The Liberty Flames, current leaders of the Atlantic Sun Conference’s East Division, are set to do battle against their division rival Florida Gulf Coast.

This is the second to last game of the season for both teams and I am sure they are going to put their best foot forward tonight.

The Eagles are coming off a tough loss to North Florida 70-64 their last time out that snapped a five-game winning streak. The Flames, meanwhile, are riding a two-game winning streak heading into this home game and have already eked out a 78-75 win over the Eagles earlier in the season.

Here are the odds for this ASUN showdown, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

  • Liberty -9 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Florida Gulf Coast +375
  • Liberty -500

Total: 146.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Florida Gulf Coast vs. Liberty Prediction and Pick

I have to say right off the bat, this game feels like a win for Liberty. Even with a nine-point spread, I like their chances to cover.

For starters, the Eagles have covered just once on the road since Dec. 11 at Rob Morris as 3.5 point favorites. As underdogs on the road, they haven’t covered since their second game of the season on Nov. 13 at Loyola Chicago as 18 point road dogs.

Basically, they are a terrible ATS team on the road with a 4-8 record away from home. Overall, they are covering 48 percent of the time this season. The Eagles actually have a solid offense, ranking 44th in the nation, but their woeful defense keeps them from taking their program to the next level.

The Flames, in contrast, rely more on their 54th ranked defense than their 121st ranked offense. But, it has been paying off. The Flames are on a two-game winning streak and are winners of six of their last eight.

The Flames aren’t the best ATS team either, to be frank, but they are 4-5 ATS at home and 8-10 coming off a win. I’m going to take a chance on Liberty here despite their issues covering as of late as I think they get up for their last two home games of the season.

Lean: Liberty Flames -9 (-110)

Lean: UNDER 146.5 (-110)
