The Florida State Seminoles enter Week 13 coming off a massive win on the road against the Boston College Eagles. The win brought them to 5-6 overall and one win away from a chance to become bowl eligible.

This week FSU hits the road or a short trip to Gainsville to face off against the Florida Gators at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The Gators are also 5-6 overall but have lost four of their last five games.

This rivalry used to be one of the best in all off-college sports but this year’s game is one of the worst in recent memory in terms of importance. For a decade between 1990 and 2000, both these teams were ranked when they faced off and the winner of this game played in the title game in six of those 10 years.

2021 is a different tale considering neither team has a winning record nor a guarantee to even make a bowl game.

Florida State vs. Florida Prediction and Pick

While these two teams aren’t competing for a national title anymore, they are in a great spot to ruin each other’s season. Basically, whoever wins will likely earn bowl eligibility while the loser will be sent home for the winter. I expect both teams to come out of the gate hot and focused on winning this game.

Florida does have an edge in the skill department but they have been playing like hot garbage over the last month. Their only win since October 9th against Vanderbilt was two weeks back to the Samford Bulldogs of the FCS. That game against a lower-tier opponent wasn’t exactly a blowout and they allowed Samford to score 52 points. If they allow a 4-7 FCS team to score 52 points, then FSU should have a field day against this defense.
