The Florida Gators are off to a strong start this season, beating in-state rival Florida State at home and following it up with a blowout win against a strong mid-major club in Milwaukee last week.

Now the team takes the short trip to Fort Myers, Florida, to face Cal, who has struggled this season, starting 0-2 before rounding into form against two mid-major foes to get to .500 on the year.

Can the Gators cover the big spread? Is there value on the total? Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook and find the best bet.

Cal vs. Florida Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • Cal: +13.5 (-110)
  • Florida: -13.5 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Cal: +570
  • Florida: -850

Total:

  • 129 (Over -105/Under -115)

Cal vs. Florida Prediction and Pick

The Gators have excelled early, integrating some new pieces like Penn State transfer Myeron Jones to improve their perimeter shooting, but also seeing the growth of big man Colin Castleton, who is taking a leap in his senior season.

The 6'11" big man has been a monster on the offensive glass, posting a top 30 offensive rebounding rate nationally and a block percentage of greater than 16%. He will give the Cal offense that is reliant on scoring from in close fits. The Bears are taking 3-point shots at one of the lowest clips in the country this season, just 30%, and the they are a poor offensive rebounding team as well. It may be tough for this team to crack 50 points.

It's tough for me to see Cal staying close with thier inability to get quality offensive and their methodical offense, 331st in adjusted tempo, per KenPom. Meanwhile, the Gators should do a good job of getting clean looks from the perimeter and get enough production from Castleton to win this one easy.

However, this spread has climbed too much for me to play, going from -11.5 at open to -13.5, so I will look to the under.

I expect struggle on offense, but they are surehanded with the ball, top 50 in turnover rate, so I don't see many transition opportunities for the Gators either. On a neutral floor, if shots aren't falling early, this game can be played on the lower end for Florida as well.

Despite a great offensive start, UF has had two of three totals land under this number.

LEAN: UNDER 129
