After losing to the Kentucky Wildcats in Week 5, the Florida Gators rebounded in Week 6 against the Vanderbilt Commodores, winning 42-0. Gators quarterback Emory Jones threw for 273 yards and four touchdowns against Vanderbilt’s awful defense. The Commodores have lost to FCS East Tennessee State this season, so the rebound is nice for Florida, but it doesn’t signal anything great.

The LSU Tigers lost to Kentucky 42-21, as the Tigers defense allowed Wildcats’ quarterback Will Levis to score five total touchdowns. LSU’s defense just couldn’t get Kentucky’s offense off the field, as the Wildcats ground down the clock with their running game (both Kentucky running backs Chris Rodriguez Jr. and Kavosiey Smoke ran for over 100 yards).

Florida vs. LSU Prediction

LSU’s defense has not been great this season compared to recent years. The Tigers are allowing 230.8 passing yards per game, 154.2 rushing yards per game, and 26.2 points per game. LSU’s defense could have a nightmare against the Gators’ ground game that is averaging 273.7 rushing yards per contest.

Tiger’s quarterback Max Johnson is going to need a big passing performance to keep LSU in the game. Unfortunately, I don’t think he’ll get it done.

I’m taking Florida on the spread at -9.5 and I’m taking the over 59.5 too.
