Florida vs. Oklahoma Prediction and Odds: The Gators are Battle Tested and Bettor Approved
By Matt De Saro
The No. 14 Florida Gators are off to a surprising strong start and are 6-0 heading into tonight’s game against the Oklahoma Sooners. The Gators come off an 84-45 trouncing of the Troy Trojans, covering easily as 21.5-point home favorites.
Oklahoma barely survived their last game against the UCF Knights 65-62 on Saturday to move to 6-1 overall. Elijah Harkless hit the game-winner with 20 seconds left in the game and UCF botched the following possession. Oklahoma did shoot well, making 55 percent of their shots from the field, and making 84.6 percent of their free throws.

Florida vs. Oklahoma Prediction and Pick
Florida is enjoying their first 6-0 start in almost a decade, moving from an unranked team in the preseason to a Top-15 team as of today. The game against Troy was a great tune-up for this matchup of very well-matched teams.
The Gators had six players in double digits scoring and won the battle on the glass 40-37. Florida's defense had a day and held Troy to 32.1 percent from the floor and just 2-of-16 from deep. The Gators are unbeaten straight up but they have also been a very profitable team against the spread with a 5-1 ATS record. The only game they have failed to cover this far was their season opener against the Elon Phoenix as 18.5 point favorites. This is an area that Oklahoma has struggled in with a 3-4 record against the spread. The offense is clicking, with an average of 75.9 points per game, and rank third in the nation with a 61.8 percent mark from the field. Defense is where the Sooners falter and they are the 37th ranked team in scoring defense.
Oklahoma has the potential to be an excellent team but I don’t think they are quite ready to beat Florida. The Gators are returning more players and have cohesion early on. Florida has already beat Ohio State and Florida State while Oklahoma lost to Utah State. Additionally, Oklahoma will struggle to deal with Colin Castleton in the paint who had 10 points and eight rebounds against Troy. He is one of the better players down low in the nation and Oklahoma has issues defending in the paint.
Pick: Florida Gators -115 to win
