Here we have perhaps the two most disappointing SEC teams in 2022. At least, Billy Napier is in his first season at Florida, where the Gators are 4-4, because Jimbo Fisher is in his fifth year making about a billion dollars to be 3-5 at Texas A&M. Last week, the Aggies lost another game at home, this time to Ole Miss, 31-28. They have transitioned to their five-star freshman quarterback, Conner Weigman after injuries to Max Johnson and Haynes King.

Unsurprisingly, Florida lost to Georgia, 42-20 a week ago. The Aggies are slight favorites at home as these two proud programs scratch and claw for bowl-eligibility.

Florida vs. Texas A&M Prediction and Pick

It’s unclear who will be the Aggies quarterback this week, Haynes King is questionable with a shoulder injury, Johnson is out for the year, and Conner Weigman actually had a good day against Ole Miss last week. Weigman threw for four touchdowns and 338 yards on 28/44 passing. Texas A&M’s passing offense is 72nd in the country, but Weigman might have given them some life. He also gave them their highest scoring performance since September 3, against Sam Houston State.

Florida knows that Anthony Richardson is their quarterback, I’m just now sure how much I should trust him. I still believe that he is scarier running the ball than passing it and will struggle to move the ball through the air against the Aggies and their passing defense that only allows 170.1 yards per game. That is seventh best in the nation. However, Richardson might never have to pass the ball. The Aggies are 120th against the run, allowing 205.6 yards per game.

If Richardson, Trevor Etienne, and Montrell Johnson get going out of the backfield, then Florida could be the third team this year to walk out of Kyle Field with a win.

Pick: Florida +3.5 (-110)
