No Formula 1 driver has ever won a race nine separate times. Lewis Hamilton has a chance to be the first to accomplish that feat this weekend at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Hamilton has won the race eight times already, with his first coming back in 2007.

Despite dominating the track, Hamilton is set as a hefty underdog to win at +400. Max Verstappen is once again the betting favorite ahead of qualifiers, with his odds set at +104.

  • Max Verstappen +104
  • Lewis Hamilton +400

Hamilton is coming off a controversial win at the British Grand Prix two weeks ago. He was assessed a 10 second penalty after making contact with Verstappen, which knocked him out of the race, but the penalty proved to be fruitless as Hamilton made up the deficit in a hurry to go on to win in his home country.

He now sits only 8 points back from Verstappen in the standings to win the drivers championship, and he could take over possession of 1st place if things go right for him in Hungary this week.

Verstappen has finished second to Hamilton at both the 2019 and 2020 edition of the race in Hungary, and will hope that the third times the charm as he’ll try to extend his lead on Hamilton in the race for the Drivers Championship.
