Phew, the PGA Tour offseason is finally over. It was a long wait that lasted less than three weeks, but we're back with more golf action to bet on.

The Fortinet Championship will kick-off the 2022-2023 season, and Max Homa will be back in the field to defend his title as the 2021 champion of the event.

Let's start off by taking a look at the top 20 odds via FanDuel to win, and then I'll give you my best bets.

Fortinet Championship Odds

  • Max Homa +1400
  • Hideki Matsuyama +1600
  • Corey COnners +1800
  • Maverick Mcnealy +2200
  • Sahith Theegala +2400
  • Taylor Pendrith +2600
  • Cameron Davis +2900
  • Davis Riley +2900
  • Brendan Steele +3400
  • Emiliano Grillo +3400

Fortinet Championship Best Bets

Max Homa +1400

Betting on the favorite and the defending champion is an extremely square move, but this is one case that I have to do it. Homa continues to be one of the most underrated golfers on Tour, and his win here last season was no coincidence.

You have to have a strong wedge game at Silverado Country Club, and Max is one of the best wedge players on Tour. last season, he ranked T12 in approach proximity from 50-125 yards. He also had a fantastic performance at the Tour Championship, finishing T5 by shooting a gross score of 17-under par. I think he defends his title this week.

Webb Simpson Top 20 +230

It's crazy to me that we can bet on Webb Simpson to finish in the top 20 at +230. This field is extremely weak, and yes, Webb didn't exactly have a strong 2021-2022 season, but he's still Webb Simpson.

He also finished T15 in approaches from 50-125 yards last year, which is hugely important at this track.

John Huh Top 20 +450

Another fantastic wedge player that we can get at plus-money odds to finish in the top 20. John Huh finished T4 in approaches from 50-125 yards last season, and he finished T2 in his last full tournament in the 2021-2022 season at the Wyndham Championship.

At +450, he's a fantastic value bet to place this week.
