Formula 1 has exploded in popularity over the past few years with the Netflix series "Drive to Survive" becomming a pop culture hit

With that being said, betting on the sport is still a little bit tricky, considering there's not a lot of unpredictability in the outcomes. The winner has almost always come from one of the top two or three drivers, and the position on the pole ahead of the race plays a massive part in the outcome.

Formula 1 has made some changes this year to help with that, and this weekend's Australian Grand Prix is going to cause even more chaos on top of it. Check out the odds and prediction for the race here.

Australian Grand Prix Will Have Four DRS Zones

If you don't already know, DRS stands for Drag Reduction System. It's an adjustable part of the bodywork of the Formula 1 car that can be used to reduce drag and help increase top speed. Mainly, it promotes overtaking and is used on straightaways.

This week's Australian Grand Prix has four different "DRS zones" at least double the amount that we see in most races. That means there's going to be PLENTY of chances for passing and changing of the leader.

A lot of people think this will favor Red Bull, who has impressive aerodynamics on their car, and I tend to agree. But the other thing we need to think about, is that this could give a chance for drivers who don't finish at the top of the pole at qualifying to make a comeback in the race.

If any driver from Red Bull, Ferrari, or Mercedes has a bad qualifying, it usually makes them un-bettable. This time, it could mean the opposite. You might be able to get some fantastic value on a guy who is further down in pole position ahead of Sunday morning.
