Francisco Lindor's Contract All About World Series

The New York Mets are all-in on the World Series this season. The team added a ton of talent in the offseason, headlined by the addition of former Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor. The Mets showed commitment to the four-time All-Star, inking him to a monster 10-year, $341 million contract.
The move will likely go over well in the clubhouse. Shelling out that kind of money proves new owner Steve Cohen is serious about building a World Series contender.

Though Lindor has yet to take the field in a regular-season game for New York, the early returns have been tremendous. Mets' star first baseman Pete Alonso has spoken glowingly about Lindor thus far.
I hope they pay him $400 million. He's worth every penny... Not only does he have the quantifiable numbers of a superstar, he has the X factor. What he brings to a clubhouse is tremendous and can't be measured.
That's a ringing endorsement of Lindor the baseball player and Lindor the person. It's exactly the type of thing you want to hear about a player who just secured one of the richest deals in MLB history.
Clearly, Alonso believes that Lindor is the type of player that can lead this team to the mountaintop. And the Mets aren't exactly far away.
