The Mountain West game of the night goes down in Fort Collins with Fresno State travelling to face Colorado State in a battle of two conference contenders.

Fresno State is inside of KenPom's top 50, but has had some poor luck this season, losing three of their four MWC games by 5 or less. Can they hang around as considerable underdogs against Colorado State, who is looking to stay in the hunt for a regular season championship.

Here are the odds for Friday night's late night showdown from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Fresno State vs. Colorado State Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • Fresno State: +6 (-110)
  • Colorado State: -6 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Fresno State: +200
  • Colorado State: -250

Total: 129.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Fresno State vs. Colorado State Prediction and Pick

Fresno State has struggled as underdogs this season, covering in just two of seven games, but if they are able to dictate the pace and limit Colorado State along the perimeter, they can stay within a couple buckets.

The Bulldogs play at the third slowest pace in the entire country and are an excellent defensive rebounding team, top 20 in the country. The team also has one of the best big men in the nation in seven footer Orlando Robinson. He is top 10 in possessions used according to KenPom and is even No. 5 in the databases Player of the Year rankings.

Robinson is going to be massive against a relatively soft Colorado State interior defense (opponents are shooting more than 51% on two-point attempts in MWC play).

While the Rams have the season long metrics of an elite offense, they may be a bit overvalued, ranking in the middle of the pack since Mountain West play started. ShotQuality believes that the offense is indeed elite, 22nd in adjusted offense, but overall this team's record is inflated. CSU has an 18-3 record, but they profile more like a 15-6 club, and I believe their downward trending offense will allow the methodical Bulldogs to cover this spread that is over two buckets.
