The Fresno State Bulldogs were primed for a run at the conference but, after suffering four straight losses, their season is basically over.

With just two more games left to play, it’s time to start looking forward to 2022-23. The Bulldogs are coming off two wins in a row but it's a case of too little too late and now have two road games to end the season. One of those games comes against mountain west rival San Diego State.

The Aztecs are currently third in the MWC with a 19-7 overall record. They have won six of their last seven games with the loss coming to top-ranked Boise State by just one point. These two teams have met before with the Aztecs destroying Fresno State 64-44. Makes you wonder why the spread is so shot for this rematch.

Not only did the Aztecs beat up on the Bulldogs in their last game, but Fresno State is also 4-6 in its last ten games against San Diego State. The Aztecs also look like a team with a lot left to play for, and for good reason. They are expected to play well in the conference tournament and are even a dark horse to make a run in the NCAA tournament.

And let's not forget that the Aztecs already held Fresno State to just 44 points on their home court. 

It’s worth noting that the total is hilariously low at 115.5 due to both teams having top 5 scoring defenses and very inefficient offenses. The last game between the two ended at 105 points. And while I expect both teams to play great on defense, I don’t think the Aztecs will hold the Bulldogs to 44 points again. I’m going to take a chance on the OVER with a lean on the Aztecs to cover.
