Giannis Antetokounmpo Making History in Quest for Finals MVP
By Peter Dewey
If there was any doubt of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s place among the NBA’s best players, he has put it to rest on this playoff run.
Antetokounmpo is now a -475 favorite to win NBA Finals MVP on WynnBET, and rightfully so, as he’s putting up numbers that nobody has in Finals history. After winning game 5, Giannis is averaging 32.2 points, 13.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game while shooting 61.2 percent from the field.
Absolutely unreal numbers.
With the Milwaukee Bucks favored by 4.5 points on WynnBET to finish off the series against the Phoenix Suns in Game 6, Antetokounmpo has solidified himself as the frontrunner for the Finals MVP award.
Latest NBA Finals MVP Odds from WynnBET
- Giannis Antetokounmpo (-475)
- Devin Booker (+450)
- Chris Paul (+650)
- Khris Middleton (+1100)
- Jrue Holiday (+7500)
- Deandre Ayton (+20000)
It’s hard to argue with those odds, as Antetokounmpo has been consistently the best player for either side in the series.
After re-signing with the Bucks last offseason rather than waiting to test free agency after the 2020-21 season, Antetokounmpo has gotten to the point he and the Bucks hoped for in just the first year with this current core.
The addition of Jrue Holiday has been huge, and the Bucks have taken advantage of injuries to top contenders like the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers to put themselves in position to win their first NBA Finals since 1971.
As long as Milwaukee wins the series, Antetokounmpo is basically a lock to win Finals MVP. The Bucks will have two chances to close things out, with the first coming at Fiserv Forum (where they are 9-1 this postseason) on Tuesday night.
