The San Francisco Giants and Atlanta Braves clash on Thursday in the finale of a four-game series at Truist Park. Both of these teams are in contention to win their respective divisions and this series finale would be a big win for both teams. Despite a winning record, the Giants are in third place in a very competitive NL West.

Meanwhile, the Braves are also well-above .500 and in second place in the NL East behind the New York Mets. Both teams have a lot of catching up to do and need every win they can get.

Here are the odds for this game from consensus sportsbooks.

Giants vs. Braves Prediction and Pick

Alex Wood gets the start for San Francisco today and has the tall task of slowing down this explosive Braves’ offense. Wood has been alright this season with a 5-5 record, 4.32 ERA, and 1.31 WHIP. But, he’s on the verge of regressing to the dumpster fire that was his five starts in May. He went 1-3 last month with a 5.32 ERA in 23 ⅔ innings and after his last two starts, I don’t think he has the chops to handle the Braves. Wood gave up a total of six runs in his last two games over 11 ⅓ innings. While that isn’t too bad, it was against the Pirates and Royals.

The Braves, meanwhile, are starting Kyle Wright this afternoon. Wright did struggle in his last game where he gave up five runs off 11 hits to the Cubs. But, overall he’s been very good at 7-4 with a 2.94 ERA and 1.10 WHIP.

I want to trust the Giants here as underdogs in this spot. However, I think Wright will prove to be too much for the Giants to overcome on the road.

Pick: Braves -130 ML
