Despite coming off a 25-3 blowout win over the Carolina Panthers, the New York Giants are still 2-5 and without the services of Saquon Barkley. It was a nice confidence booster, but the addition of injuries to Kadarius Toney, Kenny Golladay and Sterling Shepard will further thin out their offensive depth chart.

The Kansas City Chiefs, meanwhile, have been one of the most unfortunate stories in the NFL. The two-time defending AFC Champions got roughed up by the Tennessee Titans on Sunday 27-3 as four-point favorites.

K.C. was down 14-0 before the end of the first quarter and 27-0 at the half. Patrick Mahomes looked like an alternate reality version of himself who is terrible at football. Mahomes passed for 206 yards an interception and lost a fumble. He was eventually pulled from the game after taking a big hit in the fourth quarter and was replaced by Chad Henne.

Kansas City needs to get back into shape and this could be a great game to do it. Here are the odds for this Week 8 showdown, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Giants vs. Chiefs Prediction and Pick

This is a dangerous spot for a Giants team that is scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of wid receivers to deploy.  Despite this, the rag-tag group, led by Darius Slayton did manage 199 yards through the air in Week 7’s big win. But the Panthers are a far different team than a pissed-off Kansas City squad.

While I am wary of any game featuring the Chiefs at this point, the Giants might fill the role of a punching bag for a team that needs to turn their season around like yesterday. Patrick Mahomes is expected to suit up after clearing the concussion protocol in last week's game.

At the start of the season, everyone would have marked this game as an obvious blowout win for the Chiefs. But, after a 3-4 start to the season, this game doesn’t even have a double-digit spread.

The thing that brings me back to the Chiefs is the fact that they NEED to win this game. If they do not bounce back and win this game, this team’s season is basically over. The Chiefs already rank third in the AFC West I don’t see them bouncing back after taking an loss to the Giants.

If Henne starts this game, I would re-think this. But Mahomes has to step up and show his team and the league the magic he has been missing so far this season.

Prediction: Chiefs-9.5 (-110)
