A pair of NL West rivals continue their early May series on Wednesday night.

The Dodgers held on to win 3-1 in the series opener against the Giants and now will look to separate from their NL West foe by taking this series from them with a win on Wednesday night. The Dodgers are expected to start Tony Gonsolin in this one while the Giants will counter with lefty Alex Wood.

Who has the edge in LA? Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Giants vs. Dodgers Prediction and Pick

These are two of the strongest pitching staffs in baseball, evident in the low scoring win for the Dodgers on Tuesday, and I think we are in line for a similar outcome on Wednesday. Gonsolin has been rock solid at the back of the Dodgers rotation this season, sometimes operating as an opener, sporting a 1.59 ERA through 4 starts and should have control over a shaky Giants offense.

Despite being 14-9 on the year, San Fran is still paced by their elite pitching staff. The team is outside the top 10 in batting average and batting average on balls in play. As an underdog this season, the team is 1-4-1 to the OVER, meaning that when they are less likely to win it's because their offense can't hold up their end of the bargain.

I do like Wood to show up against the Dodgers, though. While Los Angeles can hit any type of pitcher with their star power, Wood's pinpoint control (just over 2 walks per 9 innings) should hold up against his former team.

I expect a low scoring meeting on Wednesday night and we see another Giants game go under the total.

LEAN: UNDER 7.5
