Giants vs. Guardians Prediction and Odds for Friday, April 15 (Back Rodón to Lead San Francisco to Victory)
By Reed Wallach
The San Francisco Giants begin their first road trip of the season, starting in Cleveland for a matchup with the Cleveland Guardians.
Both the Giants and Guardians started the season 4-2, but San Francisco enters Friday's matchup as the favorites with their prized offseason acquisition Carlos Rodón in line for his second start of his Giants career.
Here are the odds for this interleague matchup from WynnBET Sportsbook:
Giants vs. Guardians Odds, Run Line, Total
Run Line:
- Giants: -1.5 (+110)
- Guardians: +1.5 (-130)
Moneyline
- Giants: -145
- Guardians: +135
Total: 8.5 (Over +105/Under -115)
Giants vs. Guardians Prediction and Pick
Rodón looked like the Cy Young contender from 2021 in his first start with San Fran, tossing 5 innings of 3 hit ball, allowing 1 run and I'm expecting a similar outing on Friday.
Coming from the White Sox, Rodón has seen the Guardians plenty and has a ton of success, compiling a 2.90 ERA over 18 appearances in his career. He has faced Cleveland more than any other team in his career, he should have little issue on Friday.
Ultimately, the Giants are still a contender for the NL West crown while Cleveland is set for a lengthy rebuild and they have an elite pitcher on the bump. Don't overthink this, play the visitors at this discounted price.
LEAN: Giants -145
