Giants vs. Rockies Prediction and Odds for Monday, May 16 (Giants Maintain Dominance over Rockies)
By Joe Summers
The 17-16 Colorado Rockies host the 20-13 San Francisco Giants tonight at 8:40 p.m. EST after a disappointing series loss to the Royals.
San Francisco is coming off a disappointing loss of their own, getting clobbered 15-6 by the Cardinals on Sunday Night Baseball last night. They face a quick turnaround in traveling to Colorado but are ready to put yesterday behind them.
To do so, the Giants will send Alex Wood and his 3.60 ERA to the hill. Wood has been steady, if unspectacular, and held the Rockies to no earned runs (one unearned) in 5.1 innings in his last start.
He'll face the same opposing starter he did in that game, as Antonio Senzatela gets the call for Colorado. The Giants tagged him for five runs in 3.1 innings during that outing and hope for similar success.
Which squad will start the week with a victory? Can Wood silence the Rockies' bats on the road as he did at home or will Senzatela get the win this time?

Giants vs Rockies Prediction and Pick
The Giants swept the Rockies last week at home but just calling it a sweep doesn't do the games justice. Sometimes you only need a small broom to clean a few surfaces, but San Francisco brought in one of those gigantic brooms they use to clean the infield and molly-whopped Colorado right on out of AT&T Park. They won those three games by a combined score of 24-8, and now are checking travel restrictions to see if they can bring that huge broom to Coors Field too.
To get the party started, the Giants get to face a pitcher in Antonio Senzatela that has allowed more hits than any other pitcher in baseball. He's surrendered at least seven hits in every single start, and has a pitching profile (from Baseball Savant) that would excite even the worst of offenses:
With Colorado's league-worst bullpen backing Senzatela up, you can expect that the Giants will score in bunches. They're well-equipped to limit the Rockies' attack as well, with Alex Wood on the mound.
In his five starts against Colorado with the Giants, Wood has a 2.67 ERA and San Francisco won every game. His ability to limit walks and hard contact pays dividends against this lineup.
I'll back the visitors on the run line at plus money. San Francisco has won 10 consecutive games against Colorado, with every win coming by at least three runs. The Rockies exhausted an already-horrific bullpen against Kansas City and with Senzatela's terrible underlying metrics, I think the Giants win with ease to get the sour taste of Sunday Night Baseball out of their mouths. Fingers crossed they were able to get that giant broom on the plane.
Pick: Giants -1.5 (+105)
